Wear & Tear, What is Fair? Will a Judge Even Care?
What's is considered ordinary wear and tear, damage or agressive living? It's all in the eye of the beholder, but a judge may think otherwise. We will discuss the differences, have examples of excessive wear and tear vs. ordinary wear and tear. How do you handle these items on the Deposit Accounting (form #12) when the work hasn't been completed? But before you even get this far, did you complete a move-in/move-out inspection checklist with your tenant(s)? All of these pieces become necessary should you need to defend your decisions before a judge. Help yourself become more informed and know what you can and cannot charge for. The law says you can't charge for normal wear and tear, come and learn some guidelines on this popular topic.
